Scholarship for nursing discipline incorporates research, evidence-based practice, education, and quality improvement for continued learning and application in the nursing profession. Nurses are always learning and seeking ways to improve quality of care and patient outcomes. Throughout the entirety of this program, as well as in clinical, I have gained a greater amount of knowledge than when I first entered the program. As I move into the new role of nurse practitioner, I will continue to learn and gain experience, just as I have as a bedside nurse. As a practitioner, I will have a leadership role, which means I will not be the one simply implementing changes, but will be researching ways to improve patient outcomes. To continue growing in this area, I will stay up to date on best practices and seek out advice from more experienced practitioners.
